Fashion Or Foolishness? Mimco: Transparent Plastic Pieces

Designers have been trying to make this transparent trend happen for a while now! The look has been sprinkled throughout different collections over the past few years. The most recent contender in the fight to make plastic right: Mimco! The Australian-based brand sent clear plastic skirts, coats and dresses down the runway in their Fall/Winter 2011 collection at the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival a couple weeks ago. The pieces were actually the work of Melbourne-based deginer, Kathryn Beker . So what do you think of this transparent trend?

Fashion FYI: Clear plastic fetishism is a desire to wear clothing made out of soft clear plastic.

I actually really like it. It’s useful too, especially with all the rain down here in Florida!

We’re dealing with sporadic April showers here in LA, good idea! And you could still show off your cute outfits because it’s see-thru!

Wow, check out that necklace the first model is wearing. Amazing
